Clayton Ridge High School Breakfast
The Clayton Ridge High School senior class is holding a breakfast in the high school's multi-purpose room at 131 S. River Park Drive from 7:30am-11am on Saturday.
Guttenberg Municipal Hospital is sponsoring a 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, September 22. Register between 7:45 and 8:15 am at the Guttenberg Hospital (200 Main Street in Guttenberg). Pre-registration is recommended, and can be done online. Cost is $25.00, which includes a tee shirt. The Walk/Run begins at 8:30am.
Open AIr Market
The Open Air Market will open at 3pm on Friday and at 9am on Saturday. Vendors include direct sales businesses like Norwex, Pink Zebra, Pampered Chef, Perfectly Posh, Tastefully Simple, Thirty-One, Jamberry, Paparazzi Accessories, and LuLaRoe, along with artists and craftspeople selling hand made goods like wood carvings and burnings, hand made wooden lamps, quilts, sweater mittens, photo collages, accessories, toys, stuffed animals, doll clothes and accessories, purses, jewelry, skin care and bath products, and much more. New vendors are being added all the time! Email us at email@example.com to inquire about serving as a vendor.
Guttenberg History and the Gutenberg Bible
The Guttenberg Public Library will show a new video "A Walk Through Guttenberg" and also a video about Guttenberg's 1937 Centennial celebration in the library meeting room on Saturday from 10:30am-2pm. The Gutenberg Bible will also be on display.
Home Brew Tasting
Brewers invited to enter Germanfest Homebrew Tasting
The Saturday Sep. 22 Germanfest celebration in Guttenberg will continue to feature a homebrew tasting. Festival goers who enjoy stout, pale ale, pilsner, and wheat beer can sip and compare local suds.
The tasting will be held from 12 noon until 2 pm in the Main Festival Tent located in the 600 south block of River Park Drive. Festival-goers are asked to make a free will donation for the peoples choice ballot.
Ballots will be collected and the winner announced in the Main Tent when the tasting concludes. Homebrewers are invited to enter the contest for free and can enter as many brews as they want. The entry consists of 6 bottles of beer with labels.
A $50 cash prize will be given to the people’s choice winner and $25 for second place.

Smith underwrites the contest and has brewed Windswept beer since 1987 in Guttenberg.
GermanFest will be hosting the fourth annual sauerkraut making contest on Saturday. There is no entry fee and no advance registration. This is a People’s Choice event with a prize for the entry with the most votes. For more information contact Jane Thein at 563-252-3109.
Weiner Dog Races
Bring your favorite Dachsund to GermanFest for the annual Weiner Dog Race! Races start at 12:00pm, see the rules and registration form at right. These are also available the day of the event.
kids Games & Obstacle Course
The popular children's obstacle course returns this year, featuring several challenges of balance and agility, along with a maze. Kids games, inflatables, and a train ride will also be running from 10am-4pm on Schiller Street and the 500 block of South River Park Drive.
Mississippi River Boat charters
Captain Joe Vich will offer one-hour boat tours for $10/person up to 6 people per tour. Boarding will be at the DNR boat launch at the north end of Winergar Works Marina. Tour times are 8:00, 9:30, 11:00, 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00. Call 319-240-5047 for reservations.
All are willkommen to join in a GermanFest worship service at 10:15am on Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church at 203 Pearl Street.
