Saturday:
Morning: After staying a night at the hotel, head out to get something for breakfast at Sodes Green Acre Country Market & Cafe, Kaffee 1858 & Public House, Rausch's Cafe, or the Stadium to start the boys' weekend off. Enjoy a cup of coffee and great food to begin your day. 10:00 am - 12:00 pm: You'll want to play a relaxing round, or maybe even two, of golf at the Guttenberg Golf Course. Play competitive or just for fun! The golf course is a 9 hole course that looks over Buck Creek and limestone bluffs and goes through the woods of Cortheast Iowa. After a successful round of golf stop in at the Club House to cool down with a beverage. |
1:00 - 6:00 pm: Go out on the river and enjoy the peace with some fishing on the Mississippi. Bring your own boat or take advantage of available boat rentals! Lock & Dam #10 is located on the river in Guttenberg, and fishing is good below the dam. On the north side of the dam, Bussey Lake is also a popular fishing spot, but fishing isn't limited to these two spots! Contact the DNR for fishing reports. Enjoy the rest of the evening floating down the Mississippi or relaxing on one of many sandbars.

6:00 pm: After a long day on the river come back in and enjoy one of the local bars or restaurants. There are many options to choose from but there are none you can go wrong with. Try Bootleggers, Kaffee 1858 and Public House, Lakeside Ballroom Restaurant & Bar, Joe’s Pizza, which was voted Guttenberg’s best pizza in 2014, 2015, and 2016 and has many flavors of ice cream, or the Stadium Bar & Grill for Guttenberg’s best burger of 2015 and a large variety of other sandwiches, sides, and ice cream (seasonal). Feel like staying in? Order delicious take out from the above restaurants or Casey’s Pizza, or Subway, or pick something up from the local grocer, Bender’s Foods, or Sodes Green Acre Country Market & Cafe.
