saturday Morning events
Enjoy a morning walk or run with the Clayton Ridge High School 5K Run/Walk. Registration begins at 7am in the Ingleside Park Gazebo north of Clayton Ridge School.
Following the 5K, (around 9:30am) a Bicycle Rodeo will be held on the grounds of Clayton Ridge School. Hosted by the Guttenberg Police, Fire, and EMS Departments, the Bike Rodeo is a fun way for kids to learn and demonstrate bicycle safety skills. Helmets will be given out to participants and kids can enter for a chance to win one of two 20" bicycles! The Bike Rodeo is made possible by donations of equipment by Blank Children’s Hospital (Des Moines Iowa) and a donation to the event by Guttenberg Industries for the helmets and bike give-aways.
Names will be drawn at noon for the bikes, you will not need to be present to win.
Thinking of entering your bicycle in the parade? Stop by the Bike Decorating Booth for bike/wagon/mini float decorating supplies!
The Farmers Market will be open from 8am until noon along the 400 block of S. River Park Drive. Stop in to enjoy freshly baked cinnamon rolls, doughnuts, bread and other baked goods. We feature a rich selection of seasonal produce, jams, syrup, and honey as well as crafts, jewelry and other repurposed goods! On July 6 the Farmers Market will host the "Bluegrass Petting Zoo", an interactive music exhibit and demonstrations featuring Bluegrass instruments! You have to check this out!

Information for Residents: street closings for July 6
Park Activities: The 700 & 800 blocks of South River Park Drive will be closed to traffic Saturday July 6 10am-11pm. They will be opened for the 7pm parade procession, but not for regular traffic. Most of the park activities will center within the 700 block; there will be food vendors along the 600 block as well (and possibly some activities in the park) but the 600 block will remain open to traffic, as will the entrance to Landing 615 and the parking area in front of the Marina Visitor Center.
Parade: There will be no parking on River Park Drive along the parade route (Koerner Street to Main Street) from 5pm until after the parade. “No Parking” signs will be put up on Friday night for the parade route, enforcement will begin at 5pm on Saturday July 6.
The Clayton Ridge Drill Team will perform immediately after the parade in the intersection of Schiller Street and River Park Drive.
Fireworks will be ignited at the South Marina Parking Ramp at approximately 10pm Saturday July 6. The South Marina boat launch and parking lot will be available for public use until 8pm on July 6. All persons and vehicles must be vacated from the parking lot by 8pm Saturday July 6. The boat launch and parking area will be reopened after the fireworks display. Signs will be posted to inform visitors of the fireworks the need to vacate the area by 8pm.
Nearly all of the seasonal boat slips are outside of the 350 foot safety range, so slip patrons will not be asked to move their boats and may watch the show from their boats if they wish. Patrons who are not outside the safety perimeter will be so advised. The Guttenberg Police and Fire Dept will assist with advising boat patrons of the closure, keeping the parking area closed and safe during the display, etc. Coast Guard Auxillary will be available to keep boaters a safe distance from the display.
